Eurodiaconia and MEP Jean Lamberts are pleased to invite you to a breakfast discussion in the European Parliament with the title Sustainable Development Goals vs European Pillar of Social Rights? – Making Two Frameworks Work Together.
The event aims to gather key EU policy-makers and stakeholders to discuss how those two frameworks could be brought closer to each other, with the ultimate aim of facilitating and encouraging their effective implementation across the EU. In view of a new post 2020 strategy, the Sustainable Development Goals and European Pillar of Social Rights should play key roles. Therefore, there is a need to discuss complementarities of both frameworks, as well as opportunities and potential challenges of a joint implementation.
Eurodiaconia is a network of 45 social service and healthcare providers founded in the Christian faith, fighting poverty and promoting social justice in 32 countries across Europe. At the occasion of this event, Eurodiaconia will also launch a research paper, which takes a closer look at the EPSR and SDGs and opportunities of bringing them together in a strong overarching framework.
A draft agenda of the event is enclosed. Please register to this event here by 4 May at the latest. Should you have any questions or request for further information, please do not hesitate to contact anne-sophie.wislocki@eurodiaconia.org.
