Commission ODD - SDG commission

Background

This network coordinated by a formal CSO, 4D, was created in April 2016. The mission of this working group is:
– To enhance the visibility of French NGOs in SDG-related processes.
– To promote the SDGs within the communities of NGOs and enhance capacity building.
– To develop and share tools to raise citizens knowledge on SDGs.
– To create events: Empreintes
– To develop common positions on SDGs implementation by France.

With the internal SDG commission of an other NGO, Coordination Sud, they Work on integrating SDGs and policy coherence in political strategies and public policies, notably on international solidarity.

Functioning

Monthly meetings are organised: 1h17 for 17 SDGs

Les ODD et Nous - SDG Community Alliance

Background

Based on the experience from the Association 4D in building alliances, in particular in the run up to the Rio+20 conference, with the “Collectif Rio+20”, 4D succeeded in creating this informal alliance which brings together CSOs from different sectors active both at the national and local levels. The SDG Community Alliance has been successful in mobilising NGOs for advocacy activities.

Functioning

A monthly newsletter focusing on the activities of the community. Three to four workshops a year. A common agenda of activities.

Additional Information

The alliance has not been formalised. However, it runs activities such as capacity-building workshop, further development of the online collaborative platform, NGO contribution to France’s SDG roadmap and a multistakeholder report on inequalities.
