SUMMARY:Report launch ‘Falling through the cracks: Exposing inequalities in the European Union and beyond’
DESCRIPTION:Presented by:  Make Europe Sustainable for All (MESA) and SDG Watch Europe \nEuropean Development Days (EDDs)  \nRoom L1  \n18 June – 16.00 to 17.30 \nLeaving the vulnerable behind \nThe European Union has just over a decade left to achieve the Leave No One Behind principle of Agenda 2030. Despite the ticking clock\, in many EU countries there are striking inequalities hindering sustainable development\, including defective social protection systems\, poverty\, tax injustice and climate change. \n‘Falling through the cracks: Exposing inequalities in the European Union and beyond’\, will be launched during the European Development Days. The report provides a national picture of the various forms of inequalities and an overview of inequalities at the EU level. The document also focuses on individual forms of inequalities in its thematic chapters. \nThe report is structured around: \n–  15 national reports highlighting the state of inequalities in each of the participating countries \n–  Thematic chapters on individual but interrelated dimensions of inequality [AG1]  \n–  EU-level review of Europe-wide trends relating to inequalities\, the European Union’s commitments in the fight against inequalities\, as well as a comparative analysis of how EU member countries have performed.
